Kicking and Rocking

So Katie has learned a new trick, if mom and dad aren't around to rock her in her bouncer seat, she has found a way to do it herself! What smart children we have.

Dino and Katie Girl

Katie girl is so much more active and lively these days, so we wanted to show you what our sweet girl has been up to. I was out shopping with my mom and Katie this weekend, and a man came up to us-talking to Katie and getting one of her big smiles in return. Before walking away, he said "Your baby has one of the best smiles I have ever seen!" After watching this video, I am sure you will agree:) Anyone know of a "Best Smile" contest we can enter her in-I am sure she would win!

Such A Smart Boy!

Tavin and Dan were playing marbles and Tavin was demanding something from Dan...Dan gave him a little pat on the cheek and this is the conversation that followed:

Dan: Don't talk to daddy that way...you need to talk nice.

Tavin (sat thinking for a while): Daddy you say sorry!

Dan: I'm sorry Tavin but you need to talk nicer.

Tavin(still looking very serious at Daniel): You need to be nice to Tavin!

Lately things seem to be sinking in with Tavin so quickly and he uses things he learns from us -in the right situations-I couldn't help but smile when this sequence of words came out of his mouth:)

I just LOVE this boy!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

We send hugs and kisses your way!

The Little Exercise Man

Tavin Exercising right along with mom and dad-he does the moves better than we do! :)

A common occurrence at our house...

Usually when Tavin's best friend (Dan) comes home from work at the end of the day, they are off to play whatever games their imaginations can concoct -but this week-Tavin was sick with a cold and cough. The little guy didn't have the energy to do much other than cuddle-so that is exactly what they did. I am so happy that my family has a love for cuddling as much as I do.

Tavin and His Lady Bug Friend

Tavin Loves the movie "Bugs Life"-and now points out different kinds of bugs to us. He is very smart and knows quite a few of their names. As you can imagine- he was super excited when Dan found this lady bug for him to see. They were instant friends:)

P.S. Some people might be wondering why Tavin is sitting in my kitchen sink naked for this video...he often times helps me with the dishes, and to keep his clothes from getting wet, we strip him down:) He actually loves to do this-keeps him busy for close to an hour! The faucet is his very own waterfall. (Another one of his recent favorite words)

He Fits Right In

Those of you who know our family pretty well know that we have some interesting quirks about us-it makes life interesting though. Well, our dog fits right in. He sleeps laying on his back with his feet sticking up in the air! Just one of the things that we have noticed while getting to know Tuff.

Now that he has been with us for a couple of weeks, he is starting to show his true colors and personality. We just gave him his first bath yesterday and he was so good! He just sat in the bath tub with a forlorn look on his face-biding his time. We blow dried him afterwards and he looks like a really fluffy puff ball now....like he stuck his paw in a light socket-if that was possible:)

The downsides thus far: Tuff sheds-he really can't help it-just how he was made:) But we have come up with all kinds of ways to try and stop the spreading of the shedding. Brushing daily is number one, and pet hair rollers have come in handy as well. The sucking hose on our vacuum has a whole new purpose.

And we are sad to report that Tavin's Diego figurine that goes with his Diego safari car has gone the way of the world....it was a tragic sight-Diego's legs and arms all chewed up and sprawled across the kitchen floor when we came home one day. As I was reprimanding Tuff, he seemed to say...it was an accident-Diego jumped into my mouth...as he hung his head in shame:) I am not sure what offended Tuff about Diego-who is supposedly an animal lover on his TV episodes-but he is now no more:)

Check Out My New Running Shoes

So I was doing some reading and found out that you are supposed to change your shoes every 500 miles when you run or workout in them. Well I have had my Nike Shocks for about 5 or 6 years now, and I am pretty sure that it is time for a new pair! Plus, Dan and I have been keeping up with our exercising-we are into month 2 and I am glad to say still going strong. I feel so much better-and-as Dan puts it, "you are definitely not as big as you used to be..." hmmm how should I take that?:) So these were a little reward for the pounds I have shed. Thanks Sweetie.
We got these Adidas on sale At Kohl's and I love the comfort and support they give me on the inside-great ankle and arch support. The colors are fun too! I am very pleased with our purchase and recommend these shoes to those who might be looking for a new pair to exercise in. I am also playing on our ward volleyball team now and it is SO much fun! I have really gotten to know some of the other girls and we laugh and joke the whole time. Happy to say I'm better than I thought I would be...meaning I can actually get it over the net most of the time.

Hold You Mommy

Tuesday 9 a.m.

Tavin: "Mommy hold you, mommy hold you!"

Me: "You want mommy to hold you Tavin?"

Tavin: "OK mommy hold you, hold you."

Yes Tavin I will hold you-and I will smile at this new saying of yours all day-and will remember it to treasure later in life-when you are too old to ask me to hold you-and too big to sit on my lap. But no matter how big you get, I will always Hold you-when you need me to! Cause that is what mommies do-and they do it best!
