Olivia Anne Bauman
Born on: April 12,2012 (My Sister Chrissy's Birthday)
At: 9:18am
Weighed: 7.13
Length: 19 inches *The biggest of our 3 children
*The darkest/ most hair by far!
*When she came out-that is all anyone could talk about...and Dan of course commented: HOLY HAIR:) He then asked: Are you sure that is our baby? Her hair is so dark! Yeah Dan, I am pretty sure that she is ours-since I just pushed her out of me:)
*I was in shock that she could have possibly fit in my tummy! No wonder she was in a rush to get out! I would be too if I was that big in such a small space. (She came a week early)
This last picture describes how all of us feel about baby Olivia joining our family: We LOVED her right from the start and are in awe of the miracle of her birth. We are blessed to have another sweet spirit in our home and lives.
She is the best baby out of my children thus far, she is a "champion pooper"-says our pediatrician and sleeps/nurses well. She loves to cuddle up to whomever is holding her (there are plenty of eager candidates:) And she coos in her sleep. Right now she sleeps in her boppy or in the new swing my sisters and mother bought for us as a baby gift (It is a life saver!)
Tavin and Katie absolutely adore their sister and wake up each morning asking to see her. They are eager to help with her and want to hold her whenever we will let them. Tavin says that he has a "special touch" whenever she is fussing(which is very rare) and he is able to get her to quiet down. He also is a pro at getting her to take her binki (he is very proud of this) and makes up songs to sing to her and about her every day. When she squaks while he is singing he smiles and tells us she is singing along with him! (Usually it means she is hungry) He tells everyone about his baby and even brought two girls that he befriended at the park over to see her. (I would say they were about 10 years old) We have also caught him trying to nurse baby Olivia using his nipples:) I had to explain that only girls can give milk to babies. I pump bottles for him to feed to her now:)
Katie didn't know what to make of her at first-but soon got used to her. I think Katie sees her as a lively doll that we get to dress and feed and change:) She is very intrigued with my nursing pump and uses the pump pieces as microphones that she yells into.
Funny things that people said the few weeks before giving birth to Olivia about me being pregnant:
In the 9th month of being pregnant people were sure that I was pregnant, and not just fat, so they were at ease to ask about the baby or make comments about my physical state....
*(Dan and I attended a Real Soccer game for date night right before Olivia was born) One man asked if I was hiding the soccer ball under my shirt:)
*(At the same game) A man selling roasted nuts asked me and my sister to please come over. We hesitantly walked over to his stand and he announced: "I have something that will make your baby happy" then he gave me a sample of the nuts:)
*One man asked when my "get Skinny" date was:)
*(Checking out in a store) The cashier asked when the baby was due and then followed up with a "you look so cute pregnant." She then proceeded to explain that she isn't able to have kids but she has a lot of respect for mothers and the job that they have. It was a very nice compliment on a day that I needed it:)
The birth story to come!
